Stay Strong in the LORD
The devil's tactics and how to rebuff them
Just a quick little write up today that the LORD put on my heart. This involves some of the tactics the devil uses against men of God, and how you can rebuff them.
Did you know that the devil always comes after a man of God and tries scare him and to get him to sin? That way the man of God is less effective at doing his work for God. The man of God can't be dragged down to hell with Satan so Satan tries to get him off his game so that he cannot help others.
Case in point. Nehemiah and co. rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem and wouldn't you know that Satan sent his workers to try to disrupt that.
(Nehemiah 6:2) "That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief."
Nehemiah responded wisely and said he was focusing on the great work he was doing for God. At the time, Nehemiah was rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
(Nehemiah 6:3) "And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?"
When Satan doesn’t get his way, the next thing he does is threaten and lie about you to others to try to disrupt your ministry that God gave you. Sanballat threatened Nehemiah telling him he would tell the king that he was planning to rebel, which was not true.
(Nehemiah 6:6) "Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words."
Nehemiah was a wise man and he knew what they were up to. He knew the devil was trying to make them afraid and also get them to do something rash.
(Nehemiah 6:13) "Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me."
As an aside, this is exactly the trap the Democrats set for the Trump people on January 6th, 2021. They provoked them to sin. Unfortunately, since almost no one reads the word of God anymore, they were easily caught in the trap. If they had just been focused on doing work for God, they would not have fallen into this trap.
I digress. Lets look at how the wise Nehemiah responded to this threat and lies from the devil.
(Nehemiah 6:9) "For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands."
He prayed to God to strengthen his hands. If you are doing God's work, don't worry about what other people are doing to try to get you from doing that work. Don't be afraid, and don't stop your work. Just take it to the LORD and he will clear a path for you. He's faithful to do that. It's that simple.
How To Get Saved
If you are not saved yet by Jesus Christ for all of eternity, God wants you to know that you can be. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. God loves us so much he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross even though we don't even deserve it. He was then buried for 3 days, and then gloriously resurrected 3 days later.
This is what the Bible says about how you can be saved:
(Acts 16:30-31) "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? {31} And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
