Modern Bible Corruption Alert
How the NASB corrupts Matthew 9:13 and turns sinners into victims instead of wretched sinners deserving of hell.
Just a quick little article today for you. I was writing this post on my account on X and thought I’d share it over here too. If you want to follow me on X, my handle is @TheLastDon222.
Here is another modern bible corruption. This time from the NASB. Although it's not limited to just the NASB. All modern bibles are just as bad in that they twist the word of God attacking doctrine.
Here is the verse that Jesus speaks in Matthew 9:13. First in the word of God, the King James Bible:
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Next, in the corrupt modern version bible the NASB
Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13 NASB)
In the NASB it says "desires" compassion. The KJB says "will" have mercy. Do you see the difference in authority?
In addition do you see that in the NASB it says "compassion" as opposed to "mercy" in the KJB. This is a big difference. Mercy is a lot different than compassion. Mercy is the idea of overlooking/treating lightly some wrong someone has done to you. Compassion is sympathizing with the distress of someone else.
So the NASB takes the idea that YOU sin by changing it to compassion. With the word, "mercy" it's clear YOU sin, but Jesus in his love will have mercy upon you even though you're a wretched sinner.
Now look at the last part of the verse. The part in the KJB that says, ".....come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Notice Jesus is saying that he's calling sinners to repentance. Without repentance there can be no salvation. Repentance is being sorry for your sin against God and changing your mind to turn to Jesus instead of your sinful behavior.
In the NASB it just says that Jesus just calls sinners. Call them for what? Call them to dinner? Call them to a party? Calling them a name? What is Jesus calling them to?
The NASB muddles and changes what Jesus is saying. His words are no longer authoritative.
With the King James Bible you have God's literal words and they are obviously perfect. No other book is more hated than the King James Bible for this reason because this book has God's power that the other books don't contain. This is a big reason why there is so much apostasy in the Western churches today.
How To Get Saved
If you are not saved yet by Jesus Christ for all of eternity, God wants you to know that you can be. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. God loves us so much he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross even though we don't even deserve it. He was then buried for 3 days, and then gloriously resurrected 3 days later.
This is what the Bible says about how you can be saved:
(Acts 16:30-31) "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? {31} And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
