Article Summary
In yet another sign of the growing apostate church, The Epoch Times is reporting that there are about 10% of Christian colleges that have ties to Planned Parenthood.
According to Students for Life of America, there are 68 out of 784 “Christian” colleges that maintain a relationship with Planned Parenthood. This comes even after SFLA released its first report in 2021.
Abortion Is Baby Murder
First, it is very disturbing that a university/college that professes to be Christian would support anything to do with abortion. It is clear in the King James Bible that God knows us even before we are in the womb. Consider the following verse from Jeremiah 1:
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Do you see that? That is God speaking directly to Jeremiah in that verse saying he knew him even before he was in the womb. So obviously God knows you while you are in the womb and outside of the womb if He knows you before you are in the womb. If you support abortion, it is very clear you are rejecting the Word of God.
Do these abortion loving “Christian” universities even read the Bible or are they just reading it and rejecting it? It’s hard to say, but my guess is that the enemy has taken over the leadership and they hate the Word of God.
University Reactions
I find it very interesting how the universities reacted to the SFLA report or rather the lack of reaction. The Epoch Times reached out to a number of the universities in this report and only one got back to them. That university was Baylor.
To its credit, Baylor had a very positive response to the report saying:
“As a Christian university, Baylor respects the sanctity of life. We do not allow for the institutional promotion of abortion or abortion-related services on our campus,” Lori Fogleman, vice president of media and public relations at Baylor, told The Epoch Times. “Additionally, Baylor representatives frequently tour and support Care Net Pregnancy Center both financially and through volunteer work as part of the University’s community outreach efforts.”
Baylor aside, all these other universities said nothing. This always happens when a light is shined on someone doing something bad. The unrepentant person, who rejects God, scurries away back into the darkness when the light is shine on them. The repentant person, who accepts God, stays in the light, accepts their fault, and turns away from it.
The Worst of The Worst
SFLA identified the worst of the worst in their report here. Among the very worst is Duke University, which came in number two on the list. Duke literally offers their students internships with Planned Parenthood! Their medical school even promotes the abortion pill.
Other universities on the list include Emory, Rhodes, Augsburg(the worst), ElizabethTown College, Ohio Wesleyan, Macalester College, Moravian College, Muhlenberg College, Hamline, and St. Olaf.
One thing I noticed about most of these colleges is that they seem to be either Methodist, Lutheran, or Presbyterian. That should tell you a lot about where those denominations lie with regard to the Word of God. However, that’s a story for another article.
A Ray of Hope
However, it’s not all doom and gloom. Thanks to SFLA’s report, 40 colleges have dropped their support for Planned Parenthood. We all make mistakes and get off track at times in our lives. Colleges are no different. It’s nice to see that those 40 colleges repented and are getting back on the straight path. They should be commended for that and forgiven.
All we can ask is that when the light is shined upon a dark action, that the person/organization turns away from that action. Afterall, not a one of us lives up to the righteousness of God as Romans 3:10 tells us.
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Thank You
A big, “Thank You” to the Students For Life America for exposing the darkness going on at some of our country’s Christian universities. They are doing great work and living by the Word of God by exposing darkness.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
-Ephesians 5:11
